Terri Chaplin is a Certified Grief Companion and the founder of Healing Hearts Community — a global learning community for grief coaches and practitioners built on the belief that no one should have to grieve alone.
Her path into this work came through personal loss, and she has spent over a decade translating that experience into practical, compassionate education for coaches at every stage. She brings the same warmth and steadiness to her teaching that she asks of her students — a genuine presence that makes the hardest material feel safe to explore.
Terri's programs have reached more than 3,600 students worldwide, from nurses and counselors to caregivers and community leaders — each finding their own way into meaningful work through her guidance.

What will I be able to do after completing the Core Certification?
After completing the Core Certification, you'll hold a recognized Certified Master Grief Coach credential and have a solid, working understanding of how grief functions, how to build a supportive coaching relationship, and how to use practical tools with real clients.
You'll be equipped to begin working with individuals experiencing grief — with the knowledge, the frameworks, and the professional confidence to do that work well.
What is covered in the seven modules?
The program covers the full foundation of grief coaching — including the nature and dimensions of grief, theories of loss and healing, the coaching relationship, communication and listening skills, practical client support tools, boundaries and ethics, and guidance for beginning your practice.
Everything is taught with real-world application in mind. You'll leave with more than knowledge — you'll leave with tools you can actually use.
How is the Core path different from the Guided and Legacy certifications?
The Core Certification is the self-directed path — you receive the complete curriculum, full lifetime access, and your credential at your own pace, without mentorship or community access.
The Guided Certification ($1,111) adds a personal mentorship session with a program facilitator after you complete your coursework, plus ongoing access to a private community of certified coaches. The Legacy Certification ($2,222) goes further with three mentorship sessions, a done-for-you Business Toolkit, and a globally recognized CTAA VIP Accredited credential.

Do I need any prior coaching or grief experience?
No prior coaching experience is required. The Core Certification is designed to take you from wherever you are right now. Whether you're brand new to this field, working in a related profession like end-of-life care or social work, or coming through your own personal experience with grief — this program will meet you there.
How long do I have to complete the program?
You have up to one year from your enrollment date to complete the Core Certification. The program is entirely self-paced — no deadlines, no pressure. Move through the seven modules at a pace that works for your life and your learning.
Once you complete the final exam and earn your credential, you retain lifetime access to all course materials, including any future updates.
Can I upgrade to the Guided or Legacy path after enrolling?
If you're considering whether a higher path might be a better fit, we'd encourage you to explore that before enrolling. The mentorship, community access, and Business Toolkit included in the Guided and Legacy paths are much easier to include from the start.
